One country at a time, Cannabis legalisation is slowly spreading across Africa.

Fields of Green for ALL is honoured to be associated with the Cannabis and Hemp Association of Namibia. We’re on our way to Windhoek (13 Sept) and Swakopmund (14 Sept) to support our activist neighbours as they set off on the road to re-legalisation of Cannabis in this huge, sparsely populated, awesomely beautiful and interesting country.

Seattle Hempfest – South Africans Feeling Right at Home.

Celebrating 28 years of Cannabis Culture, fighting prohibition and sticking it to the man, Hempfest Seattle is an astounding event! Free entrance and run by an army of volunteers, the event is held in a public park over 3 days. It felt like our DDay 4.20 on steroids and we love the fact that it is called a “Protestival” in keeping with the fact that, although Cannabis is legal in Washington State, there are many loose ends to tie up and “we are not free until everyone is free”.

August is Women in Cannabis Month

In order to pave the way for the next decade of Cannabis policies in South Africa we need these policies to be sustainable. Gender equality has to be at the heart of sustainability. Empowering women also means an end to prohibition as the only way to protect women from stigma and dangerous, degrading encounters with law enforcement. Specific criminal justice measures targeting women, eg: withdrawal of child custody, hampering of the exercise of family rights, must be abolished without delay.
